5K On Your Own
Walk - Run - Roll - Scoot to Support
the SAME Foundation
Complete a 5K on your schedule, in your modality, and help power the SAME Foundation’s impact. Entry fee: $35.
Submit your time and modality to be considered for an award presented during SBC in Charlottle, NC.
How It Works
- Register: Sign up for the 5K (DURING SBC registration). If you are already registered for SBC, and want to add it, please send an email to registration@same.org.
- Move your 5K, your way: Complete the route anytime during SBC.
- Record your result on the sheet you received during check in: Track your time and modality (walk/run/wheelchair/e-scooter).
- Submit at the same table you picked up the route sheet.

Safety & Accessibility
- Follow local laws; use lights/visibility in low light; wear a helmet on e-scooters; yield on shared paths.
- Check weather and hydrate appropriately.
- Choose terrain and segments that match your mobility needs.

Submitting Your Results
- Submital forms will be distributed at SBC Registration.
- Deadline: Submissions MUST be received by November 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. ET to be considered for any awards.
- Privacy: Results may be shared via social highlights; photos submitted will be shared at the SAME Foundation's discretion.

Not required, but a GPS link/screenshot or photo helps with any potential ties and award verification. -
Can relay teams participate?
By all means, but all members need to be registered for the 5K individually. -
Are there shirts or swag?
Participation medals will be awarded to the first 100 participants who return their accountability card.
